Pro-Tip for the Perfect Glow

Always exfoliate 24 hours before application and keep your skin hydrated afterward to extend the life of your tan!

What is the difference between Brown Bee and traditional self-tanners?

Brown Bee is a Professional Self Tanner (STP). Unlike traditional self-tanners, STPs use the maximum efficient and safe concentration of active ingredients, delivering a deeper, more even tan in a single application. Inspired by professional spray tan formulas, Brown Bee provides a natural golden tone without orange undertones. Its mousse texture does not stain clothing and is applied easily with a microfiber mitt.

How do I achieve my desired tan shade?

Your tan develops progressively and cumulatively. The more product you apply and the longer you let it sit before rinsing, the deeper your glow will be. Use this guide for best results: Light Glow: Leave on for 4.5 hours. Medium Tan: Leave on for 6–7 hours. Deep Dark Tan: Leave on for 8–9 hours.

Is using a self-tanner healthy?

Sun exposure damages the deeper layers of the skin, affecting cellular DNA and reducing collagen and elastin production, which accelerates premature aging. Self-tanners like Brown Bee offer a healthier alternative to sun tanning, as they work only on the surface layer of the skin without UV radiation.

The science behind Brown Bee Self Tanner

Brown Bee creates a sunless tan without painting or masking the skin. Its active ingredient, derived from sugar cane, reacts chemically with dead skin cells on the epidermis, producing a natural-looking color. These cells are naturally shed through the skin’s exfoliation process, which determines the duration of the tan.

Does the self-tanner wash off or stain clothes?

Brown Bee does not coat the skin. The color results from a chemical reaction with dead skin cells, so once excess product is rinsed off, the tan does not fade in the shower and does not stain clothing or fabrics.

Can I sunbathe while using Brown Bee?

Yes, you can sunbathe while using Brown Bee. However, this self-tanner does not stimulate melanin production and does not provide sun protection. The use of a broad-spectrum SPF sunscreen is essential to protect the skin from UV damage.

Tanning shades and intensity levels

The color develops progressively and cumulatively. The more product applied and the longer it remains on the skin, the deeper the final shade. For a light tan, leave the product on for 4 hours; for a medium tan leave the product on for 6 hours; for a dark tan, leave the product on for 8 hours or overnight.

When should I apply self-tanner?

For special events, it is recommended to apply Brown Bee one to two days in advance. For everyday use or to maintain a natural sun-kissed look, it can be applied at any time.

How long does the tan last?

The tan lasts approximately 6 to 10 days, as the color develops on dead skin cells that are naturally renewed. To extend the longevity of your self-tan, keep the skin moisturized daily and take short showers. Shaving, waxing, exfoliating, prolonged swimming, or applying perfume directly to the décolletage may shorten its duration.

What is the instant color guide?

The instant color guide, also known as Color Guide Technology, provides temporary color during application. Its purpose is to help visualize product placement, preventing streaks and ensuring an even, flawless tan.

Difference between Self Tanning Air Mousse and Hydro Self Tanning Air Mousse

The Self Tanning Air Mousse includes an instant color guide, while the Hydro Self Tanning Air Mousse is transparent and does not allow visual guidance during application. This version does not require dark clothing and does not stain sheets or fabrics.

Which products should not be used with Brown Bee?

Brown Bee is compatible with standard skincare routines, including cleansing, moisturizing, and sunscreen. It should not be used alongside acids, exfoliants, chemical peels, or skin-sensitizing ingredients such as retinol or vitamin A derivatives.

Is Brown Bee safe for sensitive skin?

Yes, Brown Bee is safe for sensitive skin and has undergone dermatological irritation testing. If any irritation occurs, discontinue use and consult a healthcare professional.

Can I use Brown Bee during pregnancy or breastfeeding?

Yes, Brown Bee is safe to use during pregnancy. The product works only on the epidermis, which is the outermost layer of the skin composed of dead skin cells, and does not penetrate deeper layers. When breastfeeding, we recommend avoiding recent application on the chest area. At least 5 to 6 hours should pass after application, or the product should be rinsed off and fully absorbed, to ensure safe contact while nursing.

Can I do laser hair removal while using self-tanner?

Permanent hair removal treatments should not be performed on tanned skin, whether from sun exposure or self-tanner. Brown Bee may be reapplied after the session.

Are your products gluten-free?

Brown Bee’s products do not contain gluten, but we cannot guarantee that they are free from cross-contamination in the laboratory.
